In episode 1, my most favourite scene is when Luffy was asked by Coby what he wanted to become and he answred ordinarily: ''I'm gonna be king of the pirates'', he was full of confidence and said it like it was destiny and meant to happen, personally his confidence in repeating that statement everytime taught me to be sure of myself, believe in my dreams, keep holding on to it and never let go even if it sounded silly and stupid to most people.
In episode 2 and 3, Luffy obtains his very first crewmate, The pirate hunter ''Roronoa Zoro''.While being a pirate hunter becoming a pirate himself is so contradictory, but let's not forget the way he got in, Luffy made him a deal wherther to be his nakama or get executed by the marines. Now that's a true pirate even his way of making deals is so unfair.
In that fight the scoundrel was the marine captain ''Axe-Hand Morgan'', using his authority as a marine captain he ruled the whole city with brute force, he was tyrannical and cruel, that all the citizens jumped up of fear just at the sound of his name. by defeating him Luffy saved the town , that is really an obvious contradiction in roles while the marines are supposed to be the good people that saves and protects the rights of citizens, and pirates are supposed to be the bad guys that terrorises the world. this proves to us the point that the people that represents justice are not necessarily just, and the people that represents evil are not necessarily bad. Also the final scene of Coby saying goodbye to Luffy while paying salut as a marine soldier and thanking him for what he has done for for him , in that moment Zoro said: '' I've never heard of a pirate being thanked by a marine'' , expresing what an unusual and bizzar thing he's done.
